Welcome to Hotel Flokalundur  Hotel Flokalundur is a small summer hotel and camping site, situated on the shore of Vatnsfjordur, where the first settlers of Iceland landed. Vatnsfjordur, which is on the south coast of the Westfjords, is a nature reserve and
known for its beautiful nature and abundant flora and fauna. The
weather conditions are stable and mild making Vatnsfjordur an
interesting place to visit and enjoy.Flokalundur is only 6 km away from Brjanslækur which is a landing place for the ferry Baldur that sails on the Breidafjordur, connecting Snæfellsnes and the Westfjords peninsula. The hotel is situated centrally on the Westfjords and is located nearby some of Iceland’s most beautiful natural sites, such as Latrabjarg (the westernmost point in Europe), Raudasandur, the waterfall Dynjandi and the island Flatey. It is within easy distance from towns and villages of the Westfjords, f.ex. Isafjordur (116 km north), Patreksfjordur (61 km west), Talknafjordur (62 km west), Bildudalur (45 km west), Holmavik (150 km east) and Budardalur (187 km south). Rooms Hotel Flokalundur is a homely country hotel with 15 nice rooms with 1 or 2 beds. All rooms are equipped with a shower and WC. A spacious, common sitting room with a TV connects the sleeping quarters with the restaurant. Access for wheelchairs is in one room. Restaurant The restaurant is open from 08:00 till 23:30. The breakfast buffet is open from 08:00 till 10:00 and in the lunchtime the meal of the day is served along with a menu of small dishes that can be ordered from all day. Dinner is served from 18:00 till 21:00 and after that until 23:00 small dishes from the menu can be ordered. Gas station and shop Fuel and various oils and accessories for the car can be purchased in the shop. A small variety of handy supplies for the trip, such as foodstuffs , charcoal and propane gas for the grill/barbecue can be purchased in the shop. Camping site A camping site is close to the hotel and there are good facilities for tents and camping trailers. There is access to electricity and in the facility hut there are toilets, hot and cold water, showers and facilities for dishwashing. Clothes can be washed at the hotel.
